The Sooners for Christ is a campus ministry dedicated to serving Christ on the University of Oklahoma campus. Our servant students come to OU and the SFC's from around the state, the U.S., and the world. As we are growing in our own faith, we strive to develop the faith of Christians on campus and to reveal a life of faith in Christ to the lost and those seeking Christ. We are serious about campus missions as we believe that God has put us here for that purpose.
If you want to use your faith and not just keep it safe, then the Sooners for Christ is a ministry where you can shine. College students are making the most important life decisions while on our campus. In the four or five years at OU many students are deciding their career, choosing a marriage partner, deciding what kind of person they want to be, and whether or not Christ will be their Savior.
Too many Christians come to a major university like OU and find their faith under serious attack. We want to challenge all believers to join those who choose to use their faith by serving the Lord in every way that they are gifted. There are thousands of students at OU who either have no faith or have a faith that is very superficial. We believe that most students want their lives to mean something significant, so we try to model a significant life focused on the life modeled by Jesus himself.
We live the life that Jesus modeled in many ways. We serve our campus by being a friend to the many lonely students on campus. We serve our community by helping to feed the hungry. We serve our country by helping the poor, hungry, and homeless in our many urban cities. We serve our world by sharing Jesus while helping people with their conversational English in countries like Argentina, Brazil, Ukraine, and Germany. We help build houses of worship throughout Mexico, so our Hispanic brothers and sisters can be a light for Christ in some of the poorest regions in the world.
These are exciting times in campus missions. We are excited to be in the business of campus missions. If you want to help blaze the trail, come on. We need the help!
